The Partridge Family Temple is observing our sacred holiday, April Fool’s Day. Since the founding of The Partridge Family Temple, people have hurled the word fool at us more times than you can imagine it isn’t hard to try. I guess to most people there’s nothing more foolish than worshipping The Partridge Family.
Yet I truly believe that if you were to devote yourself to only watching the TV series and listening to the albums, you would keep finding the way-out! and it would lead to door after door of mind-blowing epiphanies. One Partridge Family song is like a drop of water in the ocean of the universe.
Unbelievers laugh when we tell them we worship television yet lately we’ve had the last laugh because nowadays people constantly ask, “What’s your favorite TV show? What are you watching?”
This has just changed in the past 7-11 years. Before that is was the same old, “I don’t watch TV. I have better things to do.”
Better things to do? What could be better than watching The Mary Tyler Moore Show on a rainy Autumn afternoon eating a grilled cheese sandwich with a kosher dill pickle on the side and a glass of Tab cola?
For many years people thought that The Partridge Family Temple were being ironic or were some kind of elaborate prank. Nothing could be further from Albuquerque. The Partridge Family Temple is a small grassroots God-freak organization and each person is a passenger and a bus driver. Each devotee of Pft! have their own personal psychedelic bus trip to the promised land of milk and honey.
So people can keep calling us fools and we’ll just nod and smile.
“We are fools for Cassidy’s sake, but ye are wise in Cassidy; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised.”
UN FACT: David Cassidy’s birthday is April 12th.
